The International Criminal Court and the Illegal Settlement in Famagusta (Varosha)

23rd Jul 2021

The actions of Turkey and her reps in opening Famagusta for settlement constitute flagrant violations of the Charter of the UN, the Geneva Conventions and the Statute of the International Criminal Court. Such violations after 2018 may be referred to the AG of the ICC for examination, trial and condemnation. The Cyprus Gov or the SC can refer these violations to the ICC.

Dr. Kypros Chrysostomides discusses the above in his article, published in his book “Cyprus: Legal and Political Reflections – Republic of Cyprus, 60 years on“.
