We are pleased to announce the publication of the Cyprus chapter in Lexology In-Depth: Dispute Resolution. The chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the legal and procedural framework governing dispute resolution in Cyprus, offering practical insight into both contentious and strategic considerations.
The publication covers key aspects of civil litigation, including jurisdiction and competence of the courts, limitation periods, interim remedies, procedural stages, evidentiary rules and enforcement of judgments. It also addresses arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, highlighting the legal basis for domestic and international arbitration, recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, and recent procedural developments.
Particular attention is given to cross-border matters, an area of increasing relevance for Cyprus as an international business and investment centre, as well as to recent reforms aimed at modernising the court system and improving efficiency.
This contribution reflects our firm’s ongoing engagement with complex domestic and international disputes and our commitment to sharing practical, jurisdiction-specific insight with the global legal community.
