Renewable energy in Cyprus

Senior Associate Dimitris Papapolyviou co-authored an article on Renewable Energy in Cyprus, published in the latest Economy Today magazine. The article  (in Greek) provides an overview of the domestic Renewable Energy market, with particular emphasis on the penetration of Renewable Energy Sources in the electricity production in Cyprus, the potential of the two interconnectors under study, which aim to lift Cyprus’ electricity grid isolation, the importance of energy performance contracts in achieving Cyprus’ EU energy and climate targets, as well as, the significance of the financing of the energy transition in Cyprus, by attracting investments and funding through EU grants designed to accelerate EU’s ambitious target for a climate economy by 2050.
