As a member of the Intellectual Property Law team, Pavlos is involved in all matters pertaining to trade mark, copyright, and design protection. Accordingly, Pavlos represents clients’ interests with respect to brand protection, enforcement, and intellectual property portfolio management.

Moreover, Pavlos provides legal advice in relation to intellectual property law that includes guiding clients on the relevant legislation and case law, as well as the application of relevant legal frameworks to their business.

Examples of Pavlos’ work in this area include preparing submissions for the benefit of local and international clients to defend and assert intellectual property rights before the Registrar of Intellectual Property in Cyprus and before Cypriot courts; drafting and negotiating settlement agreements; advising SMEs and start-ups on how to apply for various grant schemes geared towards them by the EUIPO.

Throughout his academic studies, Pavlos maintained a special interest in technology and the law, having written an LLM dissertation on online consumer rights in England and Wales regarding e-commerce transactions.

With an effective understanding of legal and regulatory provisions regarding telecommunications, cybersecurity, e-commerce, consumer protection, and advertising, Pavlos has been able to apply his special interest in technology through his practice with the firm by advising clients such as automobile enterprises and digital media service providers.

Pavlos’ engagement with this area of law encompasses ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and meeting licencing requirements within the context of, among others, connected technologies and Internet-of-Things applications.

Within the context of data protection and privacy regulations, Pavlos assists clients by providing guidance and advice regarding the applicability of the relevant national and EU data protection legislation applicable to their business, including reviewing their compliance with the EU’s GDPR and domestic regulations. He often reviews privacy policies, consent forms and general terms and conditions, and other data sensitive agreements.

In this respect, Pavlos has experience in drafting and reviewing corporate documents and general terms and conditions, in particular, for clients involved in e-commerce and technology related industries.
