We currently represent major local and international food and beverage manufacturers, including Retail Food Group, Jacobs Douwe Egberts, Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Coffee Beanery, Froneri, General Mills and Pernod Ricard, in relation to which our team advises on the full range of related law issues, from food labelling and regulatory advice, advertising and branding, supply and distribution, development and licensing. In the past we also had the opportunity of representing a department store which included a supermarket as well as local wineries.
Our experienced lawyers closely follow the developments of EU regulations and their local implementation and advise on issues that arise under food regulatory regimes, as well as industry guidelines, consumer and competition law. In addition, we effectively deal with food and beverage matters that require IP advice, including obtaining and using intellectual property, such as patents, trade-marks, copyright and trade secrets.
Our corporate and commercial team has the experience and expertise to advise on commercial agreements relating to production, supply and distribution, manufacturing and licensing in Cyprus, within this industry. We act for principals, distributors, franchisors, franchisees and commercial agents alike, and are acknowledged for our lawyers’ in-depth knowledge of the legal and commercial considerations associated with such relationships. Our experience from working for both sides gives us an ideal understanding of the strategic approach required, as well as the critical parts of the deal.
We regularly represent stakeholders from this industry in the Cyprus Courts, advising also on market regulations, which feature prominently for food and beverage products.
