Christodoulos deals with a wide range of civil and commercial matters of contentious nature, focusing on international commercial disputes, including asset recovery proceedings, shareholder disputes and cases of international fraud.

He is regularly involved in cases for securing or challenging injunctive relief before the Courts of Cyprus and advises on the recognition and enforcement of foreign court judgments and arbitral awards in Cyprus. He represents clients before the District Court of Cyprus and provides legal opinions for both domestic and international clients.

Christodoulos is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).

Areas of Practice

Christodoulos is regularly involved in complex commercial and corporate disputes, with a particular focus on cross-border litigation, asset recovery, shareholder and minority shareholder disputes, contractual and tortious claims, fraud-related claims and enforcement proceedings. He advises and represents domestic and international clients before the Cyprus courts, including in matters involving urgent interim relief such as freezing orders, disclosure orders, receivership-related relief and other protective measures.

His work includes the preparation of court applications, pleadings, affidavits, legal opinions and case strategy in high-value and multi-jurisdictional disputes. Christodoulos also advises on procedural and enforcement issues arising in parallel foreign proceedings and, as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, he is regularly involved in both ad hoc and institutional arbitral proceedings.

Christodoulos regularly advises on cross-border disputes involving issues of jurisdiction, applicable law, service of proceedings, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, and recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards in Cyprus.

His work includes advising on the interaction between domestic procedural law, EU instruments, common law principles and international conventions, particularly in disputes involving foreign proceedings, interim relief and enforcement strategy. He also represents sovereign States in complex commercial disputes involving questions of State immunity and related jurisdictional issues.

Christodoulos advises domestic and international clients on corporate and commercial law issues, particularly where they arise in contentious or pre-contentious contexts. His experience includes matters involving directors’ duties, minority shareholder rights, insolvency-related issues, contractual disputes and the interpretation of commercial agreements.

He also assists with the drafting and review of multiparty agreements and provides legal opinions on corporate, contractual and commercial matters.

Christodoulos advises on European Union law matters, particularly in the context of contentious, cross-border and regulatory disputes. His experience includes issues relating to jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of judgments, interim relief, service of proceedings and judicial cooperation between Member States. He also advises on the application of EU-derived rights and obligations, EU procedural mechanisms and CJEU case law before the Cyprus courts, including in commercial, consumer and regulatory disputes.
