Senior associate Yiannis Karamanolis was in London to attend the second day of the 2015 Lex Mundi / Grant Thornton Global Restructuring Summit and Practice Group Meeting, hosted by Maclay Murray & Spens, Lex Mundi member firm for Scotland. The event brought together Lex Mundi firm lawyers and their clients, and discussions took place on legal strategies for investing in distressed debt deals and distressed investment opportunities. Maclay, Murray & Spens and Grant Thornton presented a joint case study on international asset recovery.
Furthermore, opportunities and risks in dealing with distressed assets, COMI shifting, UK Schemes of Arrangements and recent developments on cross border insolvency and debt restructuring in several jurisdictions, were also among the topics raised during the Practice Group meeting.
