Niovi Petridou primarily practises in the areas of civil litigation and specializes in cases relevant to corporate and commercial litigation, banking and finance, real estate law, contract law, negligence and tortious claims, corporate insolvency law, as well as arbitration. She reviews contractual agreements in corporate and commercial matters, as well preparing and providing legal opinions. At the same time, she is involved in the area of administrative law.
Niovi represents and advises clients in all aspects relating to corporate and commercial litigation and dispute resolution, as well as the issuance of interim freezing and disclosure injunctions. She represents clients in a diverse array of disputes relating to corporate control. These matters include shareholder disputes, disputes regarding share-purchase agreements and shareholder agreements.
She has also considerable experience in banking litigation, negligence and tortious claims, contractual disputes, as well as real estate litigation. She has been involved in numerous litigation claims, representing and defending clients in relation to negligence and tortious claims; for the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and their subsequent execution; enforcement of creditors’ claims, including winding-up proceedings, construction disputes.
Niovi advises clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial law issues including director duties, shareholder rights and disputes, minority shareholder rights, appointment and duties of receivers/managers on the basis of fixed charges, and extrajudicial enforcement of securities. She is involved in various other projects, where she has advised on corporate and regulatory compliance matters.
Niovi practises in banking litigation and debt recovery, and is currently representing several domestic institutions before the Court. Moreover, she provides legal opinions in relation to banking and debt recovery matters.
Niovi has extensive experience in constitutional, public and administrative law and has advised on several recourses before the Administrative Court of Cyprus, including recourses against the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the Civil Service Commission, the Commission for the Protection of Competition, and other local authorities for judicial review and annulment of administrative acts. Currently, she represents a number of clients in recourses against the Civil Service Commission.
Niovi has worked on numerous cases in relation to employment law and has represented clients before Court and provided relevant advice.
