Margarita is an Associate lawyer at our Firm, having joined the corporate and commercial department in February 2018. She previously practised as a Corporate and Commercial lawyer in reputable firms in Cyprus and in the United Kingdom. Margarita works with clients in various industries and has expertise in advising on a broad range of corporate matters, including private acquisitions and disposals, corporate finance, restructuring and corporate governance, as well as commercial matters including joint ventures and Terms of Business.
Margarita is dual-qualified to practise in Cyprus, and in England & Wales.

Margarita is involved in financing transactions, acting on behalf of borrowers and lenders, including the review and drafting of loan and facility documentation, and advising on various types of security.
Cross Border Transactions, M&A & Restructures
Margarita advises clients on the acquisition/sale of various types of businesses/companies, both domestic and cross-border. Her work includes carrying out legal due diligence on the target companies, drafting and/or reviewing the sale and purchase agreement and other related documents, and attending matters relating thereto up to the completion of the transaction.
Margarita has also been involved in various restructurings and reorganisations of companies and groups.
Margarita advises clients on all aspects of corporate governance, including directors’ duties, board and shareholder issues, constitutional and share capital issues. She has considerable experience in negotiating and advising clients on joint venture and shareholder arrangements, as well as drafting Terms of Business, Confidentiality/ Non-Disclosure Agreements and other commercial contracts.

Margarita advises tech businesses at various stages of their lifecycle, including on matters of corporate borrowing and secured lending, acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures and investments. She has developed a good knowledge of various technology issues and their relevant regulatory framework, through carrying out due diligence on technology companies and by drafting and negotiating documents and agreements that need to be put in place in connection with corporate/commercial transactions.

Margarita has assisted clients in the acquisition and disposal of companies operating in the renewable energy sector, both locally and abroad. She dealt with all stages of the transaction, including conducting extensive due diligences of both the companies and their assets/projects, advising on the financing and acquisition of renewable energy projects, reviewing and advising on project and corporate finance loan and security documentation as well as reviewing or drafting and negotiating sale and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements and material project contracts e.g. operation and maintenance agreements, licences, power production agreements etc.
Margarita focuses on delivering legal support for non-contentious matters by utilising industry insight gained through her experience in dealing with the commercial and regulatory issues applying to the renewable energy sector in Cyprus.
