Our firm assists WatchGuard Technologies with its acquisition of Panda Security

Our firm had the pleasure of acting as legal counsel to network security and intelligence vendor, WatchGuard Technologies and assisting them in the acquisition of Panda Security, a global provider of endpoint protection.  

Our competition law team advised the companies with respect to the merger control regime in Cyprus and prepared and submitted, on their behalf, the required notification to the Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition. The transaction was successfully cleared by the Cyprus competition authority on 9 April 2020.  

 As result of this acquisition, WatchGuard will be able to offer AI threat detection centralized management, behaviour profiling techniques and cutting-edge security event correlation. On the integration, Prakash Panjwani, CEO of WatchGuard, highlighted “by bringing the companies together, we enable our current and future customers and partners to consolidate their fundamental security services under a single brand, backed by the innovation and quality that is a core part of both companies’ DNA.”
