We are most proud of our IP team at having maintained its leading position in the Cyprus market for trademark law, according to the 2020 World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000 rankings.
The editorial for our firm reads as follows:
There is no shortage of high-profile work at Dr K Chrysostomides & Co as word of its “prompt and business-oriented advice” continues to spread. As one client enthuses, the full-service ensemble “conducts its legal work perfectly. We simply mention our needs and know that everything will be taken care of with the utmost efficiency and in a short turnaround”. IP division spearhead Eleni Chrysostomides channels more than three decades of high-stakes litigation experience to secure wins for her clients. Fellow colleague Alexandros Georgiades has “great practical knowledge and is extremely skilled in all aspects of advisory and enforcement work”. Together they “go the extra mile to protect their clients’ interests”.
Our team deals with brand management strategies, enforcement, prosecution and registrations in the Cyprus Trade Marks Registry, OHIM and WIPO. Our practice involves the regular handling of objections raised by the Cyprus Trade Marks Registry against international trade mark rights, extending to and designating Cyprus, but also of objections raised against national trade mark filings. Additionally, we handle a significant amount of trade mark opposition work, including invalidity and cancellation actions for trade marks.
We advise on all commercial aspects involving brands, including licensing, franchising, and distribution agreements, as well as co-existence agreements. In addition, we provide all types of pre-registration and post-registration services, including trade mark searches and clearance reports, renewals and trade mark watch services.
