English – Cypriot Law Day

The Cyprus Bar Organisation organised the 1st English-Cypriot Law Day in Nicosia on the 3 June 2016, in close cooperation with the Bar Council of England and Wales.

Within the five sessions of the seminar, recent developments in the context of EU, UK and Cypriot Law were covered, such as the issues of jurisdiction and parallel proceedings, anti-money laundering and white collar crime, the developments in urgent interim reliefs and the registration of foreign judgments in both UK and Cyprus.

The seminar was opened by the President of the Supreme Court, the Minister of Justice and Public Order and the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus.

Our firm’s Managing Partner, Dr Kypros Chrysostomides moderated the first session “Comparative analysis of the Brussels recast – issues of Jurisdiction and parallel proceedings” and his presentation drew considerable attention and positive feedback from the attendees.
