Competition Law conference at the University of Cyprus

Senior associate Ioanna Sapidou and associate Alexandros Efstathiou attended a conference on the “Protection of Competition in Cyprus and Europe”, on 30 October 2015, co-sponsored by the Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) and the University of Cyprus.

The keynote speaker was Bruno Lasser, Chairperson of the French competition authority and judge of Conseil d’État, while the opening speeches were delivered by university Professors, the Dean of the University of Cyprus, and CPC Chairperson Loukia Christodoulou.

The conference provided an overview of competition policy, its interaction with economic analysis, and enforcement activities of CPC. Additionally, a discussion followed on how to foster compliance and spur reform through advocacy.
