Our firm sponsors the ‘Mediation meets Judges in Cyprus!’ Conference

Our firm was proud to sponsor and present at the ‘Mediation meets Judges in Cyprus!’ conference, whose main aim was the promotion of mediation in civil and commercial disputes, and the increase of judicial referral of disputes to mediation.

Managing partner Dr Kypros Chrysostomides was one of the main speakers at the conference, attended by the President of the Supreme Court of Cyprus and Minister of Justice and Public Order, in addition to a number of Judges of the Supreme Court. Dr Chrysostomides’ presentation was entitled ‘Exploring the scope of judicial involvement. What’s in it for Judges?’.

The conference provided an overview of how judges in Europe use and lobby for mediation both at national as well as European level, what the role is of lawyers and mediators in this out-of court dispute resolution process, and the reasoning behind the establishment of GEMME, which is the European Association of Judges for Mediation.
