Our firm has a particularly strong intellectual and industrial property law department, with an extensive list of high-calibre international clients from all fields of industry, including top luxury brand owners, pharmaceutical companies, international franchise systems, manufacturers of a wide range of products and equipment etc. With over 20 years experience in this field, the department offers a full range of IP services, including the prosecution and registration of trade marks and service marks in the Cyprus Trade Marks Registry, at OHIM and WIPO, the registration of Cyprus national patents and the validation of European Patents in Cyprus (including PCT (EP) patents and SPC applications), the registration of industrial designs, as well as general advice on a wide range of copyright and allied rights.

In addition, we provide all types of pre-registration and  post-registration services, such as, for example, trade mark clearance searches, renewals of trade marks, payments of annuities of patents, recording of assignments and other changes, “watch” and other related services.

We have extensive experience in IP litigation and we frequently advise and represent our clients before the Cyprus Courts in matters relating to the enforcement of their IP rights in Cyprus, including all necessary steps for obtaining interlocutory relief and other judicial remedies. 

We are particularly strong in anti-counterfeiting work, working closely in this respect with the Cyprus Customs Authorities, acting as local point of contact for our clients in proceedings pursuant to Council Regulation (EC) No 1383/2003. Our firm has recently joined a newly established coalition of EU leading law firms aimed at assisting and supporting brand owners in protecting and enforcing their IP rights against counterfeit and pirated goods on a pan-European level.

Members of the firm are active in professional Intellectual Property organizations, such as INTA, PTMG, and FICPI and frequently attend conferences and other meetings organized by the said organizations.

Our firm has successfully represented  DSG RETAIL LTD (DIXONS), in a domain name dispute before  the .CY domain name Authority.  Our clients, one of the largest retailers of electric and electronic good in Europe, filed a complaint against the registration of domain name WWW.ELECTROWORLD.COM.CY by a local Cyprus company in their name, on the basis that the registration and use of the said domain name amounted to infringement of our clients' prior registered Community trade mark rights and passing off.  With his decision,  the  Mediator upheld our legal argumentation and accepted the complaint. The Mediator also recommended that the domain name registration be declared void ab initio and opened the way for its registration in our clients' name.
